about me:
my background
I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist with a private practice in Seattle’s Madison Park neighborhood. I graduated with a double major in psychology and family studies before earning a graduate degree in marriage and family therapy from the University of New Hampshire. I’ve worked as a therapist since 2000, and my experience includes individual, couples, group and family therapy. I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient, group homes, detention centers and intensive outpatient programs. I work with adults, adolescents, children and their families.
I’m also a certified case manager and registered health coach, and have experience supporting individuals, caregivers and family members as they navigate complex health needs. I have more than 10 years of leadership experience managing licensed therapists, registered nurses and dietitians in outpatient mental health clinics and managed care settings.
my approach
The foundation of my therapy practice is rooted in building a rapport of connectedness, trust, and mutual respect with my clients. I use an integrative biopsychosocial approach in developing an understanding of who you are as whole person. Recognizing the unique talents of each individual, I adapt my approach to the needs and goals of each person I serve.
My training as a marriage and family therapist is seeded in systems therapy and a strengths-based approach and work with my clients to draw upon their strengths to resolve a problem. My clients take the role as the expert of their experiences and problems. My role includes guiding you to tell your story and truth, helping you develop a vision of the future and to support the journey in exploring solutions to your goals and a plan for change.
my area of special interest
One of my areas of special interest is counseling people who struggle with infertility. My approach is to help people who are dealing with infertility develop a plan to handle the monthly emotional roller coasters, and learn communication skills to strengthen connections with your partner and loved ones. My goals for you include restoring hope, reducing stress, and helping you feel more in control of—and able to participate in—your life.
